Lesson 1
History: The study of past events.
Primary Sources: History that was written by eyewitnesses, and people who have experienced it.
Archaeology: The study of Artifacts of the past.
Anthropology: The study of our origins.
Sociology: The study to observe our current society.

Lesson 2
Hominid: Humans are hominids that are closely related to monkeys.
Neanderthals: Neanderthals came around the time humans came, neanderthals were smarter than humans.

Lesson 3
Homo Sapiens: Humans.
Paleolithic Age: The stone age.
Nomadic Society: A culture that did not settle in one place.
Knapping: A skill to make stone tools.

Lesson 4
Chauvet-Pont-d’Arc cave: One cave that has cave paintings from a long time ago.
Lascaux cave: Another cave that has many cave paintings.
Altamira cave: A third cave that had many cave paintings.

Lesson 5
Ice Age: A period when the earth is completely covered in glaciers.
Glacier: A giant block of ice.
Glaciation: Glaciers extend from the poles to the equator.
Interglaciation: Glaciers move back to the poles.
Domestication: To tame an animal.
Agriculture: To grow crops.

Lesson 6
Neolithic Era: Period when agriculture started to rise.
Sedentary: A society that stays in place.
Fertile Cresent: Where agriculture first started to develop.

Lesson 7
Neolithic Agricultural Revolution: The transition from a hunter-gatherer lifestyle, to one based on agriculture.
Hunter-Gatherer: A lifestyle that depends on hunting and fishing for food.
Positive Feedback Loop: Agriculture is an example of a positive feedback loop since it had helped populations grow.

Lesson 8
Climate: Weather over time.

Lesson 9
Human Adaptation: Human Adaptation has two different forms.
Evolution: An example of the forms of human adaptation, and to evolve.
Irrigation: To divert water to another place that has little water.

We have evolved a lot over time. Humans have been around for many years.
