Lesson 1
Bronze: A type of metal.
Jericho: A city from around 9000 BCE. The rock formations near Jericho drew many hunter-gatherers.

Mesopotamian religion had many gods, their gods were anthropomorphic.
Mesopotamian religion was influenced by geography and climate.

The Akkadian Empire: The first empire of Mesopotamia, and of the world!
The Akkadian Language: The language of the Akkadians, was close to the other languages, such as Arabic.
The Babylonian Empire: Another empire that gained control of the southern part of Mesopotamia.
The Assyrian Empire: An empire to the north that started to gain power.
The Neo-Babylonian Empire: The Neo-Babylonian Empire was the Babylonians trying to rebuild their empire, it only lasted a few decades though.

Lesson 4
Dynasty: The idea that a ruler should pass their kingdom to their children.
The Akkadian Empire focused mostly on its dynasties and rulers.
Many fortresses were built in Assyria to protect their crops.

Lesson 5
Babylon: A city made long ago, its name comes from a word which means “Door of God.”
Hammurabi: One of Babylon’s first rulers, Hammurabi created the first code of law.
Marduk: The highest god to the Akkadians and Babylonians.

Lesson 6
The Code of Ur-Nammu: The oldest code of law.
Ur-Nammu: A king of Sumer and Akkad.
Hammurabi: A king of Babylon.
The code of Hammurabi: A code of law made by Hammurabi.

Lesson 7
Chariot: A way of transportation.
Battering Ram: An item used to get inside of a building, it was first made by the Assyrians.
The periods of Assyrian history: The Kingdom period, the Imperial Period, and the Neo-Assyrian Period.

Lesson 8
The Hanging Gardens: One of the Seven Wonders of the ancient world, they were supposedly made by a Babylonian king for his homesick wife, there have been many writings about it, but no evidence they were real.
The Babylonian Captivity: When the Jewish were held in Babylon far from their home.

Lesson 9
Cuneiform: A written language made by the Sumerians.
The Wheel: It’s an unknown date when the wheel was created, but the Mesopotamians were one of the first to use it.
Ziggurat: Towns would be centered around Ziggurats, they were meant to be used to worship gods, and they were made to look like mountains.

There were many empires long ago, such as the Akkadian Empire. The Mesopotamians created many things, such as math!
